This is my engineering notebook. I write about projects while I'm still working on them: what I tried, what broke, and what I figured out along the way. I explain why in my first post.

Most of my projects start with a question I can't answer yet, like how a device talks to its driver, or whether I can get something running on Linux. I usually follow those questions further than I probably should, and this is where the results end up, including the wrong assumptions and dead ends. Those are often more useful to write down than the solution I eventually land on.

What I work on

Mostly reverse engineering hardware, writing software for Linux, and poking at buses like I²C and USB. The specifics change from project to project, and I end up learning whatever tools the current one needs.
